Losing a loved one is a deeply emotional experience, and locating their final resting place can often add additional stress during an already difficult time. Ramzul, the developer of the app ‘Kubur search’, recognised this challenge and embarked on a mission to provide a solution. His app, Kubur Search, meaning "grave search" in Malay, aims to simplify the task of finding graves in Singapore's bustling city, offering solace to those seeking closure and remembrance.

Ramzul, a 36-year-old entrepreneur, discovered his passion for helping others navigate the realm of gravesites after experiencing a significant setback. A slip disc injury forced him to halt his gravestone supply business, which he had established after being introduced to the industry through his stepfather and mother. Undeterred by adversity, Ramzul turned his attention to creating an innovative solution that would benefit himself and others facing similar challenges.

During his recovery period, Ramzul explored various avenues within the gravestone industry. From cleaning graves to experimenting with laser cutting and 3D printing techniques, he embraced a spirit of curiosity and innovation. However, it was his struggle to locate graves efficiently that sparked the idea for Kubur Search.

Building the App:

Driven by a desire to streamline the process of grave searching, Ramzul began developing Kubur Search approximately a year ago.

Describing the development process, Ramzul reminisces, "I began working on Kubur Search a year ago, sitting at home while recovering from my injury. I personally went to the cemetery, collected the geolocation data, and used Google Earth to gather the necessary information. It was a meticulous task, but I wanted to ensure the accuracy of the app."

Drawing from his knowledge of geolocation technology, he individually collected coordinates for over 60,000 graves at the Muslim cemetery in Singapore, a feat he accomplished just last month. His dedication to accuracy and attention to detail formed the foundation of this groundbreaking app.

The journey to bring Kubur Search to fruition has been a challenging one for Ramzul. However, with his unwavering determination and limited funds, he personally coded the app and even initiated a Kickstarter campaign to secure the necessary resources for its launch. The initial goal of $3,000 has been achieved, thanks to the support of his loyal followers. Ramzul, ever grateful, promised to go above and beyond if they reached the subsequent milestones of $4,000 and $5,000.

Ramzul remains committed to delivering exceptional value to those who have supported him. Should the Kickstarter campaign reach the $4,000 milestone, he will undertake the arduous task of manually finding 50 older blocks of graves, documenting the process through live streaming. This interactive approach will allow people to witness firsthand the effort required to locate these inaccessible gravesites, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation for his work.

From a slipped disc injury that brought his previous business to a halt, he channelled his passion and creativity into developing Kubur Search, a groundbreaking app designed to simplify the process of finding graves. With the support of his dedicated followers and his unwavering determination, Ramzul is on the verge of achieving his dream. Through Kubur Search, he seeks to provide solace and assistance to those seeking their loved one's final resting places, leaving a lasting impact on the grieving community and inspiring others to never give up on their dreams.
