9 Eateries In Singapore Serving Bubur Masjid This Ramadan 2020

One Ramadan tradition we all look forward to is collecting bubur masjid (also known as bubur lambuk) from mosques around Singapore throughout the month. ? Though this year's Ramadan will be different with mosques being closed, there are still plenty of places where you can get a delicious packet of this traditional porridge!

Some community centres and eateries are distributing free bubur masjid this month, and other eateries are including a free portion of porridge with every purchase. Keep reading to find out where you can get your bubur fix!

P.S. Some eateries only have a limited number of packets or may not distribute them every day, and we recommend you check with the eatery's social media before going down or placing your order. Remember to wear a mask and observe proper social distancing when collecting your food!

1. Chef Syed Shah

With every order of Biryani, Mandhi, or Nasi Ambeng from Chef Syed, you can get a packet of porridge and air khatira too! Coming in generous servings perfect for sharing, each platter costs $45 with $10 delivery island-wide. Servings for 2 pax are also available at just $22. ?

2. Salwah Charisma Baharudin

The owner of the popular Charisma bridal and catering services is still serving up delicious meals this Ramadan - including free bubur with every purchase! The menu is released daily, but previous days have included classic dishes such as an Ambeng platter, Pulut Kuning, and Kueh Som Som. ?

3. Asam Pedas Claypot Super

This beloved Asam Pedas claypot store is giving out free porridge every day of Ramadan! The packets are available first-come-first-serve from 2pm onwards, and are complimentary with each order of food. You can get their signature Asam Pedas Kepala Ikan for your iftar meal, or look out for some specials that are released on their website!

4. Makanshiok at Teban Gardens

This halal hawker centre has given out free porridge in the past, and they're giving out this year too! The stalls are still open for business (takeaways and delivery only) so you can order a variety of dishes including Tom Yum Fried Rice, Squid Ink Pasta, and Hor Fun! Porridge distribution will begin from 2pm daily.

5. Ameen Makan House

As is their yearly tradition, this eatery next to Beauty World MRT will be giving out free porridge with every delivery and takeaway order this month! Their menu covers local Indian favourites such as naan and masala chicken, as well as Thai and Western dishes too.

6. Al Falah Restaurant (3 locations)

Al Falah restaurant will be offering free porridge at all 4 of its locations this Ramadan! Porridge will be available from 2.30PM onwards on a first-come-first-serve basis. Their takeaway service is still available, and you can also call them to pre-order your meal for pick-up - perfect for your roti prata cravings. ?

7. Anna’s 108 Cafe

This eating house is a hidden gem, with stalls including traditional kampong dishes, Aspirasi chicken rice, and delicious grilled meats from Meat & Salt (also known as Charcos). Each stall at Anna's Cafe is pooling together a 'mini bazaar' every day this Ramadan so you can find chicken rice, tahu begedil, kuih-muih and so much more! Porridge distribution starts from 1.30PM onwards, and is first-come-first-serve.

8. Nur Indah Kitchen

You may have seen this small hawker stall's porridge when it was featured in Berita Harian! Nur Indah Kitchen has typically supplied porridge to the nearby Masjid Al-Taqua, and while the mosque is not open at the moment they are still cooking up their delicious porridge and giving it away to customers. Customers can pay the amount they wish to pay for the porridge, but it's first-come-first-serve with limited stocks.

While you're picking up delicious pisang goreng, chicken satay, and more from Warong Munchies, you'll also get a free packet of bubur masjid! The porridge is limited to 1 packet per person, and is free with every purchase.
