1. Green Corridor

Also known as the Rail Corridor, Green Corridor is a 24-km nature trail from Kranji to Bukit Panjang, Bukit Timah, Holland, Tanglin and ends at Alexandra. It used to be a part of Malaysia's KTM railway line connecting Singapore and Malaysia and has ceased operation since 2011. While it has not been completed yet and is scheduled to be done in 2025, there are paths that you can still take, especially if you're up for an adventure!

You will find some pleasing eye sights when trailing in the Green Corridor, like the Old Bukit Timah Railway Station that was built in 1903 or Truss Bridges that have been conserved as heritage sights. The historic bridges are quite the rare sight in Singapore, so be sure to take photos when you stop by. Another place that is worth mentioning is Clementi Forest and the Wessex Estate. Considered one of Green Corridor's hidden gems, these colonial houses will charm you with their original architecture from the 1940s.

2. Southern Ridges & Henderson Waves

With walking routes at 10km, the Southern Ridge is one of Singapore's longest walking routes. This place gives you a lot of scenic views from Mount Faber Park, Telok Blangah Hill Park, Hort Park, and Kent Ridge Park. Another spot that will make a pretty Instagram post is the Terrace Garden at Telong Blangah Hill Park. The stairs, along with a scenic view is insta-worthy!

3. Fort Canning Park

This historical place was believed to be the site of palaces from the 14th century ancient Singapore Kings. Formerly known as Bukit Larangan (Forbidden Hill), During British colonial rule in Singapore, it was where the governors lived and later on was used for military purposes.

Located in the Civic District, you can enjoy nature away from the bustling city while exploring historical sites like Keramat Sultan Iskandar Shah, the Battlebox, and Fort Canning Cemetery. 4. Bukit Timah Nature Reserve

As one of the country's richest and most diverse ecosystems, you can spend your whole day on a leisure stroll in Bukit Timah Nature Reserve. It takes around 2-5 hours to explore the entire reserve and its surrounding parks. Not to mention home to one of Singapore's highest hills, Bukit Timah Hill; this hill is the closest you'll get to a "mountain" in Singapore.

Not far from the reserve, you will find Hindhede Nature Park. This smaller park offers a beautiful scenic view of the Hindhede Quarry within. If you don't feel like doing a long hike to Bukit Timah Hill, Hindhede Nature Park also has a few hiking trails that will only take 30-45 minutes to finish a whole loop around the park. Be sure to keep your eyes open as some of the trails offer views of streams and lush greenery that will please your eyes.

5. Singapore Botanic Gardens

It's impossible not to include Singapore's very own UNESCO World Heritage when talking about top nature spots. Sprawling with over 80 hectares of green space, the Singapore Botanic Garden boasts a wide variety of flora and fauna. Challenge yourself and visit as many gardens as you can while in here. 6. Bukit Batok Hillside Park

If you're up for exploration, this "abandoned park" might be the perfect place for your next adventure. Considered one of the hidden gems in Singapore, Bukit Batok Hillside Parks is located between Bukit West Ave 5 and Bukit Batok West Ave 2. Formerly known as Greenwood Park, the park is located just about 10-15 minutes walk from Bukit Gombak MRT Station.

Some exciting things you will find here include rows of wooden structures that resemble the iconic torii gates, surrounded by overgrown vegetation, as well as an abandoned well. But what's best of it all is the view it gives you when you arrive at the top of the hill, although you will need to go off-track for a bit to get to this viewpoint. If you choose the easier trail, it will take you around 30 minutes to reach the hilltop, while the more challenging path will bring you more than 1 hour and require a bit more trail bashing.

7. Bukit Gombak Park

Still, in Bukit Batok Nature Corridor, this park is located on a hill at Bukit Batok West Avenue 5. Whether you are a nature lover, fitness enthusiast, or pet owner, Bukit Gombak Park has recreation facilities that are perfect for spending your afternoon.

At the park's highest elevation, you will find the Butterfly Garden, where there are over 20 species of butterflies and an abundance of butterfly-attracting plants that are too pretty to pass. Aside from an outdoor playground where children can play their hearts out, you will find a dog park siren on a hill with a sloped terrain for paw parents to let their dog run unleashed. There's a lot of things you can explore in this park, and if you are up for a challenge, why not try their hill trek, which has a flight of 108 steps. Once you arrive at the top, the panoramic view of the surrounding forest is definitely worth all that sweat.

8. Imbiah Trail

This natural trail located in Sentosa has a mini waterfall, dinosaur fossils and many more! The Imbiah trail is a circular loop around Sentosa's Mt Imbiah and goes all the way to the top of the hill, where the view is definitely worth the hike. You can start your journey from Sentosa Nature Discovery, and there will be maps along the way to guide you. It will take about 30-40 minutes to complete the trail, but along the way, you will find many eye-catching things that will make your adventure more exciting.

There are 3 mini waterfalls: the Imbiah Falls, Rock Dragon Waterfall, and the Tempinis Cascade. When you reach the top, don't forget to take a stunning photo at the Tempinis Cascade or head up to the three-storey bird watching tower to get a full view of the cable cars passing by. You will also have the chance to encounters different species of migratory and resident birds.

The diverse collection of mountainous orchids serves an abundant sea of vibrant colours that will please your eyes. With an area spanning 2,480 sqm, the Tropical Montane Orchidetum (TMO) has three enhanced display houses showcasing the greatest diversity of orchids in tropical montane forest in a single location in Singapore.
