I think some of us may already feel a sense of 'jelak' (bored) from the typical hotel staycations in Singapore that we have been going for since the pandemic started. And the initial strong desire to book for the next staycation is now turning lacklustre. You feel me, right?

Fortunately, thanks to Have Halal, Will Travel and Heritage Collection organising a Giveaway, I got to experience staying in one of the best rooms at Heritage Collection Boat Quay (Quayside Wing)! Their Stamford Studio (with Balcony & Iconic MBS view) was absolutely unforgettable

My Hotel Staycation In Heritage Collection Boat Quay

Everyone loves a hotel staycation room with a view, but a modern Shophouse room that comes with a sprawling balcony and outstanding panoramic view of the Singapore River and Marina Bay Sands is a rare find!

Check-In Process

Heritage Collection is a growing chain of boutique hotels and apartments in Singapore. With both a Quayside Wing and South Bridge Wing, you might just get lost! ? Make sure to get your  Wing right or else you will get lost around the wings, like I did! ?

I was lucky to stumble upon their friendly staff who quickly brought my husband and I to the right place and assisted us with the mobile self-check-in. Our first time trying out the mobile self-check-in was a seamless and quick process.

All you need is your trusty phone and identification card. Do make sure you have sufficient battery life in your phone as you will need it to tap in to enter the room. Gone are the days where you need to dig through your bag for the room card or fear losing it!

Oh, and fret not if you need help, you can contact their Personal Guest Experience Manager for any assistance. Their staff was friendly and hospitable. They showed us to the room where we were informed that their rooms come with a fully equipped kitchenette,  and come with complimentary laundry facilities and toiletries (except for toothbrush and toothpaste)! Thank God we brought ours!

One thing to note is that since their rooms are situated on the upper levels of the Shophouse, you got to work them legs and climb those Stairs. So, pack light if you need to!

Stamford Studio and Balcony

The room was effortlessly beautifully decorated with the old and new motifs. The room was also fully functional, too! We loved the syncing of  modern styles with the historical heritage décor of the old shophouse.

And wow, does the excitement build up when you see their huge open air balcony with a river view! It's so beautiful that you'd have to put everything down and admire away. That was it, the balcony sealed the deal!

The Singapore River needs no introduction to any Singaporean, having grown up learning the history of it. The beautiful scenery brought back memories of the times we spent strolling by the River during our ‘paktor’ (dating) days, having office lunches, and also catching Fireworks.

This area is definitely a good place for a hotel staycation with your loved ones, especially anyone who has seen the Singapore River's evolution and change. One of the charms of the room is that it makes you reminisce on the old memories of yesteryears.

Halal Food

It was easy for us to get Halal food, since 1819 Restaurant was right below us! We had our meals there and got to make use of our room’s balcony to chill and unwind during night with their cakes. Also with the recently opened Farah Diana Steamboat, you don’t need to go far to find Halal food.

Overall, it was a very comfortable stay for us with their comfy beds and pillows. We slept right through the night and woke up without any aching necks and backs. Although it was just a one night staycation, having the fully-equipped kitchenette with microwave and utensils turned out to be useful because we could conveniently heat up our drinks.

Also, with the location being near to Clarke Quay, Museums, Marina Bay and CBD, we don’t need to worry about the taking the last bus, train or having to pay the midnight charge for a taxi.

I think the only regret we have from our staycation is that we didn’t extend our stay! We are now longing to be back there again. Time to bring back your Staycation A-Game and put this one of a kind experience in your list!
