Far away from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo (about 16 hours by car), Sakurajima Yogan Nagisa Park Footbath is located in Kagoshima Prefecture, one of the longest foot baths (100 metres long) in Japan! The bath is fed by a natural hot spring from 1,000 metres underground in the park. ? The foot bath is outdoors and gives you a breathtaking view of the surrounding highlands which includes mountains and an active volcano.

The foot bath is located in a park which also features attractions such as promenades, an observation deck, and the Sakurajima Visitor’s Center, which introduces visitors to the history of the volcano island! Dipping your feet into the hot springs, you’ll notice the water being of a terracotta colour which contains iron. Why not relieve your travel fatigue in the footbath while viewing Kinko Bay in front and Sakurajima behind? ? You can even purchase Sakurajima’s original towels at the Sakurajima Visitor Center and Rainbow Sakurajima Inn to wipe down your feet and to keep as memorabilia!

If you’ve built up an appetite after all that excitement, you can visit Chabuya Curry Hall that offers halal Japanese curry with the “one table” concept, where people from various countries, cultures and religions can enjoy meals at the same table. ? You can order from a whole list of dishes from vegetable curry to vegan “meat cutlet”. The plates are piled with an assortment of colourful veggies too!

Escape the busy streets of Japan at this foot bath! It’ll be a great change of pace on your holiday with the splendid mountain view and refreshing bath for your feet. SAVE and SHARE this article for your next trip overseas!
