The latest attraction that you can look forward to is the Museum of Ice Cream Singapore (MOIC), opening on 19 August 2021. Time to add this unique museum to your list of Instagrammable places in Singapore.

1. What is the Museum of Ice Cream Singapore?

Originating from the US, the Museum of Ice Cream Singapore is a wonderland of 14 enchanting, interactive and multisensory installations that have the theme of ice cream, candy and more.

Currently, the museum only has an outlet in New York City and will be opening another outlet in the US in Austin, Texas. The Singapore outlet is the museum's first-ever international launch.

Earlier from April to May this year, the museum had a pop-up at Design Orchard to give visitors a sneak peek of what they can expect in the real museum when it's completed.

2. What to see at the Museum of Ice Cream Singapore?

Sprinkle Pool

The Sprinkle Pool is the museum's most attractive installation! It was inspired by the museum's founder and creative director, Maryellis Bunn who always dreamed of swimming in an ocean filled with sprinkles. You can find the Sprinkle Pool everywhere at MOIC pop-ups around the world but the one in Singapore is Asia's first!

Bouncy Castle

If you've loved "bouncy castle" as a kid, it's time to unleash your inner child once again! Guess what? Singapore is the first outlet to have a super-sized Bouncy Castle! It'll definitely be a whole lot of fun with friends or family.

Banana Split Forest

Love Banana Split ice cream? Now, you can enter the world of banana splits! The Banana Split Forest is an abstract expression of this famous dessert and it's a fun space where you can have fun and snap pictures with different colours.

Besides these 3 installations, you can also look forward to other bright spaces and picture-perfect spots scattered around the museum as well as an exhibit inspired by Singapore's dragon playground. There will also be guides who will take you on a 60-90 minute exploration. There will even be unlimited sweet treats to end your experience at the museum.

3. Where is the Museum of Ice Cream Singapore?

The Museum of Ice Cream Singapore is located at 100, Loewen Road in the Dempsey neighbourhood. It's made up of colonial barracks which used to house the Gurkhas in the 1850s and the SAF Music and Drama Company in the 1990s. For halal food nearby, check out our guide to halal food in Orchard!
