5 Family-Friendly Attractions At MAHA Expo 2022

After a two-year hiatus, the MAHA Expo is back! The expo, or its long name the Malaysia Agriculture, Horticulture and Agro-tourism, has been around since 1923. It's happening now until Sunday, 14 August 2022 at MAEPS Serdang. If you think the expo is only for industry players, you couldn’t be more wrong! There are plenty of exciting attractions for everyone, from yummy Malaysian food to interesting exhibitions including a petting zoo! We’ve included 5 family-friendly attractions you can check out at MAHA Expo 2022 below.

1. State pavilions

One of the highlights of MAHA 2022 is the 13 state pavilions, where each one of them has a unique design that represents the individual states. The pavilions are decorated to showcase the characteristics of the states in Malaysia and you can enjoy the states’ food, products and culture here!

2. Castle of Fruits

Featuring 99 lots and the participation of 82 entrepreneurs, the Castle of Fruits site is not to be missed! There are 11,111 agricultural products like fruits, vegetables, flowers and more for sale here. This year’s highlight is fruits from the Artocarpus family such as jackfruit, cempedak, and breadfruit. You can bring home various jackfruit products such as jackfruit nuggets, chips and even burgers!

3. Food stalls

What’s an expo without food, right? Be sure to head over to the Food Empire, Agrotrade and Food Truck Fiesta, where you can feast on popular dishes from all over the country. Now is the time to satisfy whatever you’re craving! There are laksa Sarawak, kacang pool, coconut shakes and many more! There are a total of 63 food lots featuring 679 types of food on sale so you can bet you won’t get hungry here!

4. Rice harvesting simulation

Ever wondered if you would make a great rice farmer? Well, wonder no more! Try your hands out on the rice harvesting simulation at the Machinery Site where you can have the virtual experience of operating the harvesting machine in the rice field. There are instructors who will teach you how to operate the machine and the yield will be displayed on the big screen of the simulator — just like how you’d be in the rice fields harvesting rice!

5. Petting zoo

What’s an agriculture expo without a petting zoo, right? Head over to G2G Animal Garden where you can pet and feed animals such as horses, deers, rabbits and even snakes! In conjunction with MAHA Expo 2022, entrance tickets for adults are RM15 and RM10 for kids.

Wear shoes that are comfortable as you’ll be walking a lot

Parking costs RM5 can be paid with Touch ‘n Go

Wheelchair and stroller friendly but some areas won’t be accessible

E-wallet is accepted throughout the merchants
