You might be a fan of Tokyo Disneyland and the cherry blossom season, but Shibuya Crossing ranks high as one of the most iconic attractions you can't miss in Tokyo.

While we're still excited about the opening of the world's first IKEA convenience store at the upcoming shopping complex, WITH HARAJUKU in Takeshita Street, here's another news to entice you to return to Tokyo.

IKEA Japan has officially announced that they'll be opening a new IKEA store near Tokyo's famous Shibuya Crossing this winter! Known as IKEA Shibuya for now, this will be their second store in the city centre after debuting the world's first IKEA convenience store in Harajuku.

According to Time Out Tokyo, IKEA Shibuya will be taking over the first to the seventh floor of the Takagi building in Udagawacho, which was previously occupied by Forever 21.

It will also serve as an extension to IKEA Harajuku where the Shibuya store will focus primarily on urban living and serving sustainable food in its cafe. At the time of writing, there are no updates on whether halal or Muslim-friendly food options will be made available here.

Since IKEA Shibuya is only a 5-minute walk from JR Shibuya Station and Tokyo's famous Shibuya Crossing, you're never too far away from the city's hustle and bustle.
