Located in Taman Desa Melawati, The Hyacinth Cafe's charming and cosy interior will definitely draw you in. With its desserts and drinks served in English-themed tableware, it makes a perfect spot for afternoon tea and intimate chit-chat session with friends! Even though it's about a 30-minutes' drive from downtown KL, their yummy offerings should be worth the drive ?

P.S. Love cafes? Then you'd love these 11 IG-worthy cafes in KL!

The Hyacinth Cafe's tantalising bakes are a labour of love of self-taught baker Yani Othman (@thekitchenguardian), or more affectionately known as, Kak Yani. Once a lawyer, Kak Yani originally started off her small business from home but the popularity of her baked goodies grew by leaps and bounds and she was able to open The Hyacinth Cafe.

P.S. If you love pastry, be sure to check out Torte by Linda, this Russian-inspired cafe in Puchong!

It's impressive how much The Hyacinth Cafe has grown since its opening in 2017! What's even better is that Kak Yani now gives back to the community by holding baking classes for aspiring bakers. Not to mention that The Hyacinth has earned a reputation for itself. Her customers even include the Queen of Malaysia, Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah (pictured above)!

We're pretty sure by now you're dying to find out what's good on the menu. Of course, no visit to The Hyacinth Cafe is complete without trying their cakes. One of the hot favourites is the Victoria Sandwich which has buttercream, berry compote and pomegranate sandwiched between fluffy layers of sponge cake. If berries are not your thing, then surely you'll find their Pandan Gula Melaka, Salted Caramel Ganache Chocolate, Raspberry Ripple or Rose Pistachio cakes appetising too. Even though they are slightly on the pricier side (above RM10 per slice), they are worth every bite ?

If you think their cakes are great, wait till you see their fluffy doughnuts, which are also another specialty ? These beauties are filled with either custard, chocolate or jam and are pillows of perfection - they often get sold out within a short time each batch comes out, so count yourselves lucky if you manage to get your hands on them!

One of the best things about The Hyacinth is that their sweet offerings get rotated on a regular basis, so you'll most likely find something new each time you visit. With a wide selection of cookies, brownies, cinnamon rolls, croissants or madeleines (French small sponge cake), the cafe is definitely is a dream come true for any dessert and pasty lover. At times, you can even expect fancier treats like vanilla eclairs, dacquoise (cake made with layers of meringue and cream) and Japanese cream puffs among others ?

The Hyacinth Cafe also has several savoury options that you can dig into, such as quiches, steak pies, croissant sandwiches, and even moussaka. For the uninitiated, moussaka is a Greek dish consisting of eggplants and potatoes with meat and it's really a hit with customers! Their quiches are also highly recommended with options such as Spanish ricotta, salmon, beef and onion and more.

So, if you're looking to treat yourself for the weekend or just spending a leisurely afternoon with some friends, make The Hyacinth Cafe your next go-to spot! Do remember to check out their Instagram page before you head over to find out what bakes they have for the day. Make sure that you come early too as they are really popular. Some days, you can expect their bakes to be sold out as early as 1pm! Once you've tried them, be sure to let us know what's your favourite ?
