Tsushi (with a silent T), is a new halal home-based business that specialises in fusion sushi. Its owner, Nur Diyanah Hamdan started her sushi-loving journey as a kid. Her mom would occasionally make sushi at home as a treat for the family. But it was only after a recent trip to Japan that she really fell in love with Japanese food. Knowing that she'd miss Japan, she bought some sushi seasoning from Kyoto to try making Japanese food at home!

P.S. We're giving away Tsushi's yummy sushi to 2 lucky winners! Read on to find out how you can participate in the giveaway.

After her trip, Diyanah tried out her mom's sushi recipe and it took her about a month before she perfected the recipe. She even managed to substitute Japanese rice vinegar with a secret ingredient that's commonly found at home ? After letting friends and family try her sushi and they enjoyed it, Tsushi was born!

P.S. Check out these 12 halal Japanese eateries in Singapore!

For ala carte orders, Tsushi sells Basic Maki ($2.50/roll), Premium Maki ($3.50/roll), Gunkan (boat-shaped, $3-$3.50) and Nigiri (rice topped with meat, $3-$5). They also have 4 choices of Sushi sets ($13-$26) to choose from. Check out their menu on their Instagram story highlights.

Tsushi might be new but it's certainly received rave reviews from customers! The 2 most popular flavours are the Samyang Beef and Black Pepper Beef, which are perfect for spicy food lovers! The Samyang Beef is tender and pairs perfectly with the sushi. As a foodie, Diyanah binge-watched a lot of Japanese and Korean mukbang and so she decided to create a mix of Japanese sushi and Korean kimbap. You can expect her to add more fusion sushi flavours, that might be more than just Korean and Japanese flavours!

The Black Pepper Beef & Japanese cucumber premium maki and Unagi Nigiri are a hit with customers too. You can also savour other usual flavours like Tuna Mayo, Salmon Mayo and Kani Stick (crabstick).

We definitely can't wait to see what other flavours that Tsushi will come up with. Keep a lookout on their Instagram page as they will usually do a poll to find out which flavours to try next! For now, if you're thinking of a post-Raya treat, try Tsushi's delicious offerings ?
