We’re blessed to have a variety of halal Italian cuisine littered all over our little island, and now there’s one more spot to get all your Italian cravings fixed: Porta Porta Italian Restaurant! While they are actually one of the very first few Italian restaurants (Muslim-owned all this time too! ?) in Singapore serving authentic, home-cooked Southern Italian food for over 25 years, they’ve recently stopped serving alcohol ? If you’re looking for an iftar meal, or perhaps a fancy date with a special someone, here’s what you should try when you’re at Porta Porta ?

Porta Porta Italian Restaurant Serves Halal Menu That Includes Seafood, Pasta, And More

We’re kicking off with a classic Italian summer seafood dish, Fritto Di Calamari. These golden rings of tender squid have just the right amount of batter and are fried to light golden perfection for a crunchy texture ? Squeeze the lemon wedges provided all over and enjoy these succulent delights while they’re still hot! Freshly fried prawns also accompany the platter; it’s hard to share these when you just want to gobble everything up on your own! ?

The South of Italy is known for their fresh and wide seafood choices, so you can expect a seafood extravaganza once you step into this humble restaurant ? The Spaghetti De Pesce is a dish all seafood connoisseurs must not miss. Fresh squid, clams and prawns are cooked and mixed together with Porta-Porta's very own secret marinara sauce straight from Nonna's (Grandmother) secret recipe book, along with a generous portion of spaghetti ? For a local twist, you can request lots of chilli padi to be added into your dish if you need the spice ?

P.S. It’s best to book a reservation so that you can skip ahead of the queues and dig into these mouthwatering delicacies! Check out the link here!

If you’re not big on seafood, then their Coscia Di Agnello Al Forno Con Patate & Parmigiana (Roasted Lamb Leg with Potatoes & Eggplant Parmesan) is truly a meat lover’s dream ? A whole lamb leg is marinated beautifully with special herbs and spices for hours before being roasted to bring out an earthy, appetising flavour ? It’s topped all over with Porta Porta’s special sauce and paired with a side of roasted potatoes and homemade Eggplant Parmigiana. We’re not going to overwhelm you with how heavenly it tastes, you just have to try it for yourself ?

Approved by HHWT's founders! ?
