11 SG Halal Cafes & Restaurants With National Day-Themed Meals (With Promotions For You!)

With National Day approaching really soon, many cafes and restaurants all across Singapore are coming up with exclusive promotions and specially-themed meals! We've rounded some of the best meals and deals in town for you to get into the spirit of celebrating our nation's birthday!

1. McDonald's

Last year, McDonald's came up with a Hainanese Chicken Rice Burger for National Day. This year, they're upping the game with something we never thought we actually thought possible: the Laksa Delight Burger($7.40 for a la carte, $9.10 for an Extra Value Meal)! It comes in two flavours: prawn and chicken. Many have praised the burger, saying that the prawn in particular, tasted almost like a real bowl of actual laksa, so it's definitely time to try it for yourselves ?

McDonald's also released a new drink: Teh C Frappé (from $4.50). Inspired by the similarly-named local drink, the Teh C Frappé is topped with chocolate powder and some freshly whipped cream ?

End off your meal on a sweet note with the new Pulut Hitam Pie ($1.70), where the classic crispy pie pastry is filled with a purple glutinous rice and coconut cream filling! It's available for takeaway or dine-in at all outlets, and Drive-Thrus. You can also get it online via McDelivery, GrabFood and foodpanda for a limited period only, while stocks last. Don't walk, RUN! ?

2. KFC

Put two of the most well-loved foods in Singapore, and you might actually feel like you're in foodie heaven with KFC's new Satay Crunch Chicken. Launched on 20th July 2022, the chicken is marinated in a special turmeric glaze, breaded and fried, for that golden-coloured perfection we love in our chicken. Oh yes, and peanut sauce is included ?

The KFC Satay Crunch Chicken is available for $8.20 (àla carte), $8.95 (2-piece meal), $20.95 (5-piece Buddy Meal) or $39.95 (8-piece Family Feast). Do note that the Satay Crunch Chicken will only be available for a limited time only ?

3. Burger King

If you've been a huge fan, the return fo Burger King's famous rendang burgers in lieu of National Day is simply the best gift for you! The Rendang Whopper burger(S$7.45 ala carte) features a flame-grilled beef patty nestled between a 5-inch sesame bun, coated in rendang sauce and topped with lettuce and onions ? You can upgrade to an even larger portion at $9.35 , and get their medium onion rings and a small SJORA drink for S$9.35. There's also other options you should try as well such as the Rendang Beef Burger (S$6.75 ala carte), which has two juicy flame-grilled patties topped with the rendang sauce and onions, and the Rendang Tendergrill Chicken burger (S$6.75, à la carte), which has a juicy Tendergrill chicken thigh patty instead. All hail the KING! ?

4. The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf

Coffee Bean is also joining on the laksa train with the release of their Laksa Spaghetti ($14.90)! The spaghetti is mixed with creamy laksa sauce, and afterwards, topped with prawns, hard-boiled egg and tofu puffs. It is available in all The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf outlets islandwide except Beanstro at Marina Bay Sands, as well as for delivery on GrabFood, Deliveroo and foodpanda. Of course, we know you love their drinks, and Coffee Bean have given their take on one of our favourite desserts ever, chendol ?

The Chendol Ice Blended® ($8.90) is made with chendol, azuki red beans and coconut milk, and topped with gula melaka-infused whipped cream, toasted coconut flakes and gula melaka drizzle. It's a sugary treat perfect to pump you up for NDP celebrations ? It is available in Regular size at all The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf outlets islandwide, as well as for delivery on GrabFood, Deliveroo and foodpanda.

Can't get enough of chendol? We don't blame you! You can also try Coffee Bean's seasonal cake of the month - the Chendol Cake! At $7.90 a slice, you'll definitely want to savour it slowly with every bite. 5. Polar Puff & Cakes

Polar Puffs & Cakes is taking you down memory lane of Sports Day and Milo trucks with their Milo Peng Cake ($39), which is, as promised, infused with loads of sweet chocolatey malt goodness. Atop a cookie base, a chocolate sponge cake filled with Milo Cream Cheese is covered with Milo buttercream frosting before topping off with Milo jelly and jelly ice cubes! We think this might be heaven for fellow chocoholics out there ? Sure, we might not see much of those trucks anymore, but at least this time, you won’t have to shuffle with your friends to try and get a cup; you got the whole cake to yourself ? Don't wait too long, though, this cake is only available for National Day, so get one soon!
