This Is The Only Encik Tan Outlet In Singapore Which Sells Halal Dim Sum

The Singapore-Hong Kong travel bubble might not have taken off yet but if you're missing your dim sum fix, don't worry! You can have halal dim sum in Singapore too, and at affordable prices. Famous local halal Chinese eatery, Encik Tan has a hidden stall at Suntec City specialising in halal dim sum called Pao Pao. As dim sum is one of our favourite cuisines, this is definitely on our list!

You might be familiar with Encik Tan for their fishball noodles, wanton mee, Hainanese Curry Rice or laksa but Pao Pao's halal dim sum is only available exclusively at their Suntec outlet.

Their dim sum is handmade fresh daily by the dim sum Chefs from as early as 6AM. The best part is that you can watch the Chefs make the paos too! It is definitely a feast for both the eyes and tummy ?

Although the dim sum menu isn't that extensive, you can expect a range of steamed paos and fried dim sum. The paos are stuffed with generous portions and one of the top favourite paos is their Curry Chicken Pao. If you're looking for something unique, the Cantonese Yam Dumpling is something you'd wanna try. It has a crumbly exterior and is filled with diced mushrooms, scallions, shrimp and chicken. Here's the price list for the savoury dim sum:

  • Chicken Siew Mai - $0.90
  • Lor Mai Kai (chicken glutinous rice) - $2
  • BBQ Chicken Pao - $0.90
  • Curry Chicken Pao - $2
  • Chicken Pao (including an egg inside) - $2
  • Carrot Cake - $1
  • Fried Popiah - $1.20
  • Prawn Roll (fried bean curd skin with prawn filling) - $1.50
  • Ngoh Hiang - $1.20
  • Crabmeat/Seafood Dumpling - $1.50
  • Chicken Dumpling - $1
  • Cantonese Yam Dumpling - $1.80

Pao Pao starts selling their dim sum at 8AM till it's sold out. Do note that they sell out very fast so, it's best to come here in the morning.
