Though you can't travel to Japan yet, the best part is that there are plenty of halal Japanese food options in Singapore so you can fuel your wanderlust ? If you're a fan of udon, we've got some good news! Halal Japanese Hakata Udon eatery, Fu-Men, has announced that they will be opening another outlet in Pasir Ris. According to their post on Facebook, their new outlet will open at Pasir Ris West Plaza on 26 April 2021. The restaurant also mentioned that this outlet will be a coffee shop stall and that the halal certification will take some time to process. But if all goes well, they are planning to get their halal certificate by June 2021.

P.S. Missing Japan? Check out this stunning region that looks amazing in all 4 seasons!

For the uninitiated, Fu-men specialises in Hakata udon, originating from the Hakata district in Fukuoka. The restaurant's founder is Chef Teppei Yamashita, who was born in Fukuoka too.

The broth for its udon takes over 45 minutes to make as it requires rigorous temperature control. Plus, it is preservative-free and filled with Japanese kelp, Japanese anchovies, saba, tuna, and sardine for a layered and savoury taste! Some recommended dishes include Japanese Burdock Tempura Udon, Premium Beef and Prawn Tempura.

For a blend of both Japanese and Singaporean cuisine, their White Laksa Udon would pretty much take the cake. Yummy udon filled with rich laksa gravy, topped with fresh prawns. Their donburi rice bowls like Stamina Don and Oyakodon are a must-try too.

So, east siders, be sure to head over to Fu-Men Udon & Donburi when they open at Pasir Ris! SHARE this with your fellow Japanese foodie fans!
