Wow, DoDoo Kitchen X VCR Bakehouse sounds like a delightful addition to the Petaling Street area in Kuala Lumpur! This two-story establishment consists of a cafe, in partnership with VCR, situated on the upper floor, and a more sophisticated dining space, Dodoo Kitchen, located on the lower level, where they serve imaginative Asian and Asian-inspired dishes. The combination of DoDoo Kitchen's focus on lunch and dinner with VCR Bakehouse's pastel blue-themed ambience and cheerful interior makes it an interesting and unique cafe experience.

The fact that VCR Bakehouse has a different theme from other VCR Cafes, which typically lean towards modern industrial design, shows their bold and creative approach. The photography corners for OOTD (Outfit of the Day) are a nice touch and add to the cafe's appeal!

The menu at Dodoo Kitchen

If you choose to dine at Dodoo Kitchen, we highly recommend trying their signature dishes like the refreshing cold cappellini, delectable white clams, unique laksam pappardelle, flavorful mapo tofu risotto, and scrumptious claypot rice. When you head upstairs, do indulge in the delightful lemon cream tart, the tempting burger ayam double, the exquisite matcha pusing, and, of course, a cup of your favourite coffee.

The dessert menu seems to offer light and delectable options, with their famous croissant, cakes, canele, and other freshly made pastries. And the best part is that their latte is priced reasonably at RM11, which is a welcome change compared to other cafes charging RM14-RM15 for similar drinks.

The vibe

We loved the (fake) skylight installation! It creates a pleasant and unique atmosphere, akin to bringing the blue sky into the cafe. This kind of design element adds to the overall experience and may become a trend in future cafes. We say it here first!

It's great to hear that the cafe accepts reservations, making it easier for patrons to secure a spot, especially since they have limited walk-in availability. The plan to return and try out DoDoo Kitchen's pasta, risotto, steak, and tapas sounds like a fantastic idea, given the positive experience with VCR Bakehouse.

Halal status: No pork and alcohol in the dishes but serves alcoholic beverages. Ingredients are sourced from halal-certified suppliers. We recommend you dine at your own discretion.
