This review of Daging Bakar Daun Pisang in Pekan, Pahang is written by one of our contributors, Liyana Johari. Some parts of the article may have been edited for length and clarity.

Daging Bakar Daun Pisang is located in Pekan, Pahang (30-min drive from Kuantan). It's along the roadside of Jalan Kuantan-Pekan near the simpang (junction) to University Malaysia Pahang.

I live in Pekan, so we usually go there for lunch. It's open from 11am - 7pm.

The restaurant is quite large and the ambience is nice. I always prefer to take away if I'm at other restaurants but I'm comfortable with eating here.

From the menu, we always choose the Daging Bakar set (grilled meat) that comes with rice, soup, air asam, kerisik (fried coconut paste), and drinks (rose syrup or iced teh o) for only RM15.

They also serve Kambing Bakar and Sotong Bakar set at the same price. Besides that, I also enjoy mi sup daging and my husband loves their curry mee.

Their Nasi Ayam Berempah set is also one of my favourites when I don't feel like eating meat.

Actually I'm not really a fan of meat. But the smokiness of beef masks the meaty taste that you can't forget and you will crave for it. The meat is so tender. That is why I always bring my family and friends to eat at Daging Bakar Daun Pisang!
