With the March holidays just around the corner, we're all looking for interesting things to do or exciting events to go to. For our fellow foodies out there, we have great news for you ? By the same folks behind Singapore's biggest halal food fair, comes a NEW 4-day (halal!) food fiesta with a variety of food items so delicious, you'll never want to leave ?

In collaboration with NTUC Downtown East, the official venue partner, this will be the first Food Fiesta to ever be held at the Event Square in Downtown East! So, what better way to kick off your holidays than sampling every yummy dish in sight? Here's our top 5 picks to get you started on your food hunt.

1. Oishiboru

A staple at most night markets (or as locals call it - pasar malam), Oishiboru dishes up our favourite Japanese street snack with true finesse. Aside from classic takoyaki fillings like prawn, ham and cheese, crabsticks and squids, this humble Muslim-owned business also serves premium, fluffy balls with unique fillings that you can't find anywhere else!

Sink your teeth in yummy salmon or chuka idako (seasoned baby octopus) filled takoyaki or test your spice tolerance with their spicy beef set! One unique creation of theirs that you can't leave without trying is the Mozzarella Bolognese boru. Takoyaki with a Western twist, each ball has a cheesy filling for that burst of flavour with every bite, and each set is topped with gooey nacho cheese and sautéed minced beef ? Of course, nothing can beat the original boru, but this one sure comes close!

Not cheesy enough for you? Splurge a little more on their cheese dip or drizzle a little of their traditional boru sauce on your sauce. Either way, it's just as delicious!

2. Chegetti

You can never have enough cheese, right? ? Have your fill of Chegetti's tasty Chili Beef Fries! Your order will come in the form of a platter of crispy fries drenched in mayo and cheese, topped with juicy beef meatballs ?

4. Iceburnz

Of course, their star drink would have to be their ice-cold Thai Milk Tea! Not overly sweet, this drink will take you back to the humid night markets in Bangkok - the taste is just that authentic ? It's also super affordable, only $2.50 a cup! Still need to quench your thirst? Upgrade to a large for just $4.
